Two workers were poisoned by sewage gases near Bogorodsk: one died.

      On August 27, 2026, at 17:15, Incidents: Two employees of the municipal unitary enterprise "Water Supply and Sewerage Management" were poisoned by sewage gases in the village of Berezovka in the Bogorodsky district. This was reported by the State Labor Inspection of the region. According to preliminary data, on the afternoon of August 27, 2026, one of the workers descended into the chamber of the sewage pumping station. He felt unwell down there. His partner noticed this and followed him down to help, but also began to feel unwell. The first one to descend into the chamber died. The second was taken to intensive care in extremely serious condition. The State Labor Inspection is investigating all circumstances and causes of the incident. An inspection is being conducted regarding this fact. The agency is also awaiting an official notification of a group workplace accident. It was previously reported that the labor inspection is looking into a fatal incident involving a sewage truck that occurred in the village of Opytny on August 22.
