A famous war correspondent met with Nizhny Novgorod residents on the Day of Solidarity in the Fight Against Terrorism.

The lecturer shared that he feels a tremendous surge of energy from communicating with people, and this mutual recharge helps him move forward. He recalled that in the profession, there are often no options for procrastination and lengthy deliberations - "you get up and go." The war correspondent shared the harsh realities of his work. "A correspondent in a hot spot has only 15 minutes to find common ground with the fighters, shoot a story, record an interview, and do a stand-up. Fear recedes precisely at the moment of work when you need to act quickly and clearly. In moments of universal tension, when everyone is looking at the sky, dark humor helps - sometimes it's enough to tell a regular joke to relieve the heaviness," Alexey Ivliev shared. He recounted a story about a paratrooper friend who often made him run long distances in a heavy bulletproof vest - and this, he said, also helped overcome anxiety. The war correspondent shared a memory from 2014 in Slavyansk, where daily shelling quickly united people into a brotherhood. Then the lecturer moved on to personal stories that made a particularly strong impression on the listeners. He spoke about a severe injury after which his arm stopped functioning. In the hospital, he was visited by a colleague from Channel One, Dmitry Kulko, and when asked, "Will the arm grow back?" he received a negative answer. At that moment, the war correspondent decided not to pity himself. "I sat for two minutes, thought about household chores - just got up and went. I apply the same philosophy in my family: when loved ones start moaning about illnesses, I jokingly demand a 'pink disability certificate,' after which we all laugh together, and order reigns in the house," the lecturer from the Society "Knowledge" said. Speaking about colleagues, Alexey Ivliev recalled with pain and pride Anna Prokofyeva - a correspondent for Channel One, who could have built a brilliant career as an international journalist but chose the special military operation zone and died. He mentioned that the leadership is considering the possibility of opening a military journalism department and naming it after Anna - and he fully supports this decision. The war correspondent also shared his choice: he was offered to try to build a career in politics, but he refused because he truly loves television. He admitted that he runs to work as if going home. After a serious injury, when he appeared in the studio with a prosthesis and moved with difficulty, colleagues rushed out of the control room, hugged him, and wished him a speedy recovery. Such support, he said, leaves no doubt - he will definitely return to duty. Currently, the lecturer works in television, but he is not yet allowed into the special military operation zone due to health reasons. However, he is training and hopes to return soon. In the end, the war correspondent addressed the young listeners with a piece of advice: whatever profession they choose - psychologist, chemist, linguist, or war correspondent - the main thing is that the work brings immense pleasure. He advised finding a favorite job to feel at home both at work and in life, and to surround oneself with people who love and support. "In this case, you will be absolutely happy people," he concluded.
