      On September 5, 2026, at 10:37, Incidents: In Nizhny Novgorod, the driver who hit a 9-year-old boy on Burnakovskaya Street and fled the scene of the accident has been identified. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region.

      Recall that the accident occurred on the afternoon of September 1. The child was crossing the road in a residential area when he was struck by a foreign car. The boy sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital.

      After the collision, the driver did not stop and left the scene. Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate, during the investigation, established the make of the car and the identity of the man.

      He turned out to be a 23-year-old resident of Nizhny Novgorod. Moreover, the driver did not have the right to operate a vehicle.

      The man was invited to the State Traffic Inspectorate to clarify the circumstances of the accident. He explained to the police that he did not feel the impact of the car.

      Administrative materials were drawn up against the driver for operating a vehicle without a license and for the absence of mandatory insurance. An investigation is also underway regarding the fact of leaving the scene of the accident.

      In addition, a case has been initiated under Article 12.24 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation for violating traffic rules, which resulted in injuries to the victim.

      To determine the severity of the harm to the child's health, a forensic medical examination has been appointed. After receiving its results, a decision will be made on the case.

      For leaving the scene of the accident, the driver may face a suspension of his driving rights for a period of one year to one and a half years or administrative arrest for up to 15 days.
