According to the Nizhny Novgorod State Traffic Inspectorate, the accident happened on September 4 at around 08:10 on the 26th kilometer of the R-158 highway. Preliminary data indicates that a man born in 1996, driving an Audi, got distracted and collided with a Lada Kalina, which was driven by a woman born in 1957. Due to the strong impact, the Kalina crashed into a Lada Vesta driven by a woman born in 1977, who, in turn, collided with a Haval vehicle driven by a man born in 1983. As a result of the chain accident, three people sustained bodily injuries. The driver of the Kalina and the driver of the Vesta were taken to the N.I. Semashko Regional Hospital with closed head injuries (CHI), bruises, and hand injuries. A 14-year-old passenger of the Kalina (born in 2012) was also hospitalized in the children's regional hospital with blunt abdominal trauma.

      Meanwhile, the Nizhny Novgorod Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that two people were injured in the accident, including a 17-year-old teenager. All four vehicles sustained significant mechanical damage. Law enforcement officers continue to work at the scene, establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
