The Nizhny Novgorod authorities approved an agreement on cooperation with the Mogilev region.

      On September 5, 2026, at 08:21, Politics Governor Gleb Nikitin signed a law approving an agreement between the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee of the Republic of Belarus. The document concerns cooperation in trade and economic, scientific and technical, cultural and humanitarian, and social spheres. The law was adopted by the Legislative Assembly on August 27, 2026.

      Let us remind you that the agreement itself was signed by the parties in June 2026 at the XIII Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia (16+) in Minsk. After that, the Nizhny Novgorod region completed the formation of partnership relations with all six regions of Belarus.

      The agreement aims to expand and strengthen interaction between the parties within the framework of the legislation of Russia and Belarus, as well as international treaties to which both countries are parties.

      Among the areas of cooperation are industry, entrepreneurship, agriculture, forestry and hunting, trade, construction, housing and communal services, investment and innovation activities, ecology, education and science, culture and art, tourism, sports, and youth policy.

      The document also provides for the possibility of developing joint action plans and creating working groups to coordinate cooperation.

      In addition, the parties intend to promote the participation of economic entities in fairs, exhibitions, and other events, exchange information, and support the exchange of delegations and specialists.

      The agreement will come into force after receiving the last written notification of the parties' completion of internal procedures necessary for its entry into force. It will be valid for five years with automatic extension for the following five-year periods unless one of the parties declares in advance its intention to terminate its validity.
