Nizhny Novgorod deputies banned children from visiting betting shops.

      On August 27, 2026, 14:11 Society Deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region supported changes to the regional law regulating the presence of children in public places. The decision was made on August 27 at the last scheduled meeting of the VII convocation. The initiative to expand the list of places prohibited for minors was previously put forward by the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs. The updated list includes betting shops, totalizators, and betting acceptance points. The amendments were unanimously approved by the deputies in two readings. Although federal legislation already prohibits minors from visiting gambling establishments, betting shops, totalizators, and betting acceptance points were not previously specified separately in the regional list.
