The "Osvey" aircraft is set to be assembled at the Nizhny Novgorod aircraft factory.

This was reported by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov on August 24, as conveyed by a correspondent from NIA "Nizhny Novgorod." According to him, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) is already considering "Sokol" as a site for the production and assembly of a twin-engine turboprop aircraft.

      "‘Osvey’ was indeed planned and we are planning to place it with UAC. Colleagues who produce ‘Akord-201’ are ready to set up machining and assembly here," Alikhanov said.

      At the same time, the timeline for the start of assembly of the "Osvey" has not yet been determined. The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade noted that the project has faced difficulties in coordinating with customers.

      "They can start as soon as possible, but there were difficulties in coordinating with customers—there are both civilian and military customers. There were challenges even at the sketch project stage," the minister reported.

      Currently, the project is at the stage of completing the working design documentation. After that, the estimated cost of further work will become clear.

      "Now, when we finally finish the working design documentation, the estimated cost of continuing the work will be clear. We are coordinating with the Belarusian side on how to share the additional costs caused by new requirements," Alikhanov said.
