In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a competitive selection for the #WEARETOGETHER movement team has begun.
On August 27, 2026, at 12:57, Society In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a competitive selection of a team of leaders, coordinators, and managers of the #WEARETOGETHER movement has begun. They will lead the volunteer community of the region and will embody the principle of universal mutual assistance on a daily basis. The Nizhny Novgorod region is participating in a pilot project to renew the federal movement, uniting millions of volunteers across the country based on the idea of mutual assistance and citizen participation in overcoming the consequences of emergencies and acute situations. The competition will last until September 24. Applications can be submitted via the link: navigator.dobro.ru/measure/29008-.
“The #WEARETOGETHER movement is built on a simple and important rule — its participants help those in need and can count on support when they need it. The movement was formed with the support of President Vladimir Putin and, since the pandemic, has responded to all socio-economic challenges, helping people in difficult life situations. Special attention is given to assistance to the front and sending organized teams of volunteers on humanitarian missions to help restore the Kursk region. This is a strong and cohesive movement that now needs to establish systematic work so that there is a center within walking distance for every resident where they can join the movement or receive help. Only then will volunteering and participation in social programs become a norm of life, and assistance will be constant,” said Artem Metelyov, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy and head of the Добро.рф ecosystem.
The organizers of the competition are looking for candidates with at least one year of public activity experience — whether in volunteering, working in NGOs, business, journalism, or municipal service. It is important to have confirmed cases of attracting people or resources and the absence of negative political histories. Key competencies include leadership, public communication skills, the ability to negotiate with top officials, conflict resolution skills, and high emotional intelligence. Candidates must also be able to inspire and organize teams.
“The Nizhny Novgorod region rightfully prides itself on its volunteers. For us, the relaunch of the #WEARETOGETHER movement under the updated model is an opportunity to strengthen work with municipalities. The movement will allow us to build a system, conduct team training, and establish the exchange of best practices. Together with the team, we must ensure that as many volunteer attraction centers as possible operate in the region — places where people come with a desire to help and where their efforts yield real results,” emphasized Daria Kovanova, head of the ANO “Volunteer Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.”
The updated model of the movement will initially focus on several priority areas: targeted assistance to families in difficult situations, support for participants of the SVO and their families, and the development of youth engagement through clubs and micro-volunteering. Socially oriented NGOs, large enterprises in the region, higher and secondary vocational educational institutions, opinion leaders, and ambassadors of the #WEARETOGETHER movement are invited to collaborate.
As of today, there are 17 Добро. Centers operating in 13 municipalities in the Nizhny Novgorod region, with more than 300,000 residents involved in volunteer activities. Over 160,000 volunteers are registered on the Добро.рф platform. Volunteers have actively participated in humanitarian missions since the implementation of the “Humanitarian Missions #WEARETOGETHER” program.
Recall that on August 5, a strategic session on the development of the regional volunteer community took place in Nizhny Novgorod at the House of National Unity. Representatives of more than 50 volunteer associations and socially oriented non-profit organizations participated in the discussion. As a result of the session, the best project solutions will be developed in collaboration with relevant organizations and agencies and may form the basis for new regional initiatives in the field of volunteering and support for civic projects.
