Photos of the right hand of Saint Spyridon, which were brought to Nizhny Novgorod, have been published.

      On August 27, 2026, at 14:46 Culture and Leisure On August 26, the right hand of Saint Spyridon of Trimythous, one of the most venerated miracle workers in the Christian world, was delivered to Nizhny Novgorod. The relic arrived from the Greek island of Corfu. The day before, the ark visited Diveevo. There, hundreds of pilgrims followed it along the holy Kanavka. In the Volga capital, the relic was met with a procession, and then it was solemnly brought into the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. There were so many people wishing to venerate the hand that the line stretched approximately one and a half kilometers. People from various corners of the region and even from other regions came to pay their respects to the relic. The relic can be venerated in the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral until 16:00 on August 27. After Nizhny Novgorod, the hand will travel to Pskov, Smolensk, Irkutsk, Khabarovsk, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, Vladimir, and Moscow. Photo: Alexander Volozhanin.
