      An investigation has been organized by the investigator of the Vyksunsky interdistrict investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region regarding the death of a teenager at a water body. According to preliminary data, on August 5 of this year, the body of a 15-year-old teenager was retrieved from a quarry located in the city of Kulebaki, Nizhny Novgorod region. Upon examination, investigators found no signs of criminal bodily injuries. A forensic medical examination has been appointed to establish the cause of death. As established by the investigators, the deceased was at the water body in a place not equipped for swimming, in the company of peers without adult supervision. Currently, the investigators are clarifying all the circumstances of the tragedy. A procedural decision will be made based on the results of the investigation. Attention citizens! In connection with the increasing cases of drowning in our region, the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region once again reminds that it is necessary to remember the basic rules of behavior in water and safety measures. Children are prohibited from being unsupervised: - going to water bodies; - standing on steep banks; - gathering on bridges, dams, and weirs; - measuring the depth of a river or any water body. Rules for behavior in water: - swimming while intoxicated is strictly prohibited; - swimming should only occur in designated areas, at well-maintained beaches; - do not swim near steep, steep banks with strong currents, in marshy and overgrown areas, do not dive in unfamiliar places; - alternate between being in the water and on land, it is recommended to stay in the water for 15-20 minutes, as cooling can cause cramps, respiratory arrest, and loss of consciousness; - do not enter or jump into the water after prolonged sun exposure, as cooling in the water causes muscle contraction, leading to heart failure; - do not swim far from the shore on inflatable mattresses and rings, especially if you cannot swim.
