Evgeny Lyulin: "The main wealth of Lyskov is its people."
On July 17, 2026, at 18:00, the town of Lyskovo in the Nizhny Novgorod region celebrated its 616th anniversary since its founding. The Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Evgeny Lyulin, addressed all residents of the district, noting that Lyskovo occupies a special place among the ancient Volga cities, being a living part of the country's history, which is now being continued by the residents themselves.
During his speech, the speaker of the regional parliament emphasized the positive changes that have recently occurred in the urban district. According to Evgeny Lyulin, the work on the improvement of Michurina Street is nearing completion, and public spaces in Niva and Barmino have been radically transformed. A significant event for the young residents of Lyskovo was the completion of the major renovation of School No. 2, where not only the interior was updated but also the school grounds, with a modern sports facility being equipped. Great hopes are pinned on the construction of a new school for 550 students, which has already begun.
At the same time, Evgeny Lyulin emphasized that creating comfortable conditions for education is already yielding results: this year, almost a quarter of the graduates from the district's schools received medals for special achievements in learning, two of whom are graduates of rural schools.
Moreover, the development of the area is not limited to the social sphere: in agriculture, the modernization of livestock complexes is underway, and local farmers are expanding production thanks to grants, supplying their products to the largest cities in the country, including Moscow and St. Petersburg. The total volume of investments in the district's economy currently exceeds 3.6 billion rubles.
A special topic for discussion was the preservation of historical and cultural heritage. Evgeny Lyulin reminded about the active work on the restoration of ancient temples, some of which are over 300 years old, and thanked volunteers for their assistance to the fighters in the special military operation zone. The residents of Lyskovo are also proud of their compatriots who have brought fame to the region at the national level, such as athlete Yegor Kushnarenko, who won silver at the European Championship in modern pentathlon.
Evgeny Lyulin also mentioned that during geological and mineralogical excavations by the Russian Academy of Sciences in the area from Isad to Proseka, a unique layer of Jurassic soil aged 165 million years was discovered. Previously, similar deposits had only been found in Antarctica.
At the celebration, specialists who made significant contributions to the development of the district were awarded Letters of Gratitude and Honorary Certificates from the regional parliament. Among them were medical workers, volunteers, agricultural enterprise employees, and municipal officials. Two residents of Lyskovo, Albina Kvartshelia and Natalia Rakhmonova, were awarded the medal "For Support of the Special Military Operation."
"The main wealth of Lyskovo is the people who live here. Those who, despite any difficulties, modernize farms, help the front, restore temples, and raise medal-winning children. After all, if you approach a task with soul, even the boldest plans become a reality, as happened with the long-awaited school construction. The engine of positive changes can be each of us; we just need to not be afraid to take responsibility, live by conscience, be proud of our history, and boldly move forward," emphasized the speaker of the regional parliament, Evgeny Lyulin.
