In the Lukoyanovsky district, the repair of the section of the R-158 road has been completed as part of the national project.

      On July 17, 2026, at 19:33, Society In the Lukoyanovsky district, the repair of a section of the R-158 highway "Nizhny Novgorod - Saratov" has been completed. The work was carried out on the stretch from the 165th to the 171st km as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life." The facility has been accepted by the state commission, and all work has been completed in full. The contract value amounted to 167.3 million rubles. During the repair, the contractor cleared the right-of-way of shrubs and small trees, leveled and reinforced the shoulders and slopes with gravel, milled the worn asphalt concrete surface on the roadway, and laid leveling and top layers of gravel-mastic mixture with the construction of driveways. For the convenience of passengers, 13 bus stops with pull-in pockets and modern concrete pavilions have been restored. 20 new road signs have been installed, and the markings were applied with thermoplastic with reflective elements. "For Lukoyanov and the entire district, this road is important, primarily from the point of view of the safety of pedestrians and drivers, as it carries a large flow of transit traffic. After the road surface was updated, the appearance of the central part of the city as a whole has also changed. I would like to note the contractor's work: all inconveniences during the repair process were minimized, and efforts were made not to create traffic jams, although the route is busy," said Igor Sintsov, head of the local government of the Lukoyanovsky municipal district. This is one of two sections of the federal highway R-158 that are under the operational management of the GUAD (the second one in the Shatkovsky district was overhauled in 2021). The road has significant transit importance, as it carries an intense flow of passenger and freight vehicles, tourist buses heading to Bolshoye Boldino, as well as heavy vehicles heading towards Mordovia. "The renewal of this section is an important step in enhancing the safety of the federal highway passing through Lukoyanov. Now there is not only a smooth surface and reinforced shoulders, but also modern markings and new stops. We are grateful to the contractor for the quality work and adherence to deadlines. The repair is completed - both residents and guests of the region have already appreciated the new level of comfort," noted Alexander Denisov, acting director of the State Budgetary Institution of the Nizhny Novgorod Region "GUAD." With the commissioning of the facility, transport accessibility and safety on one of the key routes in the south of the Nizhny Novgorod region have reached a new level. Recall that since 2019, thanks to the national project "Infrastructure for Life" (until 2025 - "Safe and Quality Roads"), more than 6,600 km of roads have been repaired in the Nizhny Novgorod region, and about 140 km of regional roads have been built and reconstructed. Only in 2025, 761 km of the road network have been brought up to standard against a plan of 626 km. The national project "Infrastructure for Life" was initiated by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, with the aim of providing citizens with modern infrastructure. The national project consists of 12 federal projects, which are partly a continuation of previously implemented national projects "Safe Quality Roads," "Housing and Urban Environment," and state programs of the Russian Federation.
