A new overpass on the R-158 near Nizhgorodets will be installed in 2027.

      On July 7, 2026, at 17:39, Society A new overpass pedestrian crossing is planned to be installed at the 38th kilometer of the federal highway R-158 in the Nizhny Novgorod region (near the village of Nizhgorodets). This was reported on the state procurement website. The customer is the Federal State Institution "Federal Road Administration of the Volga-Vyatka Region of the Federal Road Agency." The initial cost of the contract is 50 million rubles. Applications from contractors are accepted until July 15, and the results of the procurement will be announced on July 17. Work is planned to begin on July 28, 2026, and to be completed by January 20, 2027. The total duration of the contract, including acceptance and payment, is set until February 20, 2027. Before installing the new facility, the contractor will need to dismantle the existing modular crossing and adjacent structures, as well as dispose of construction debris with supporting documents. Proceeds from the sale of scrap metal and other materials must be transferred to the revenue of the Russian Federation to the account specified by the customer. In addition to the construction of the crossing, the project also includes the installation of lifting mechanisms, the installation of a video intercom and street IP camera, the installation of backup power sources, LED lights, road signs, tactile tiles, and oversized gates. The facility will be connected to the electrical networks. It should be noted that the previous overpass at this site was demolished by a truck carrying oversized cargo in February 2024. After the accident, a ground pedestrian crossing was organized there. After some time, the speed limit was reduced to 50 km/h. Speed violations are recorded by a camera. Additionally, it is currently undergoing major repairs with an expansion to four lanes of another section of the R-158 highway - from the 40th to the 46th kilometer in the Dalnekonstantinovsky district.
