Why is the first water park in the Nizhny Novgorod region closing?
July 7, 2026 17:10 Society The first water park "Atoll" in the Nizhny Novgorod region in Kstovo will close on September 1, 2026. The information about the closure was confirmed by the water park staff to a correspondent of NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" over the phone. However, they did not elaborate on the reasons for the closure. Meanwhile, several media outlets reported that the water park is allegedly ceasing operations due to tax issues. Recall that the "Atoll" water park opened in the eponymous shopping center on Lenin Square in February 2015. At that time, it was a significant event for residents not only of the Kstovo district but also of the entire region. After the closure of the Kstovo water park, there will be only two water parks left in the region—both in Nizhny Novgorod. Moreover, the one on Gagarin Avenue periodically raises prices, which causes dissatisfaction among visitors. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
