Children complained of vomiting and weakness at the eco-gatherings in the Perevozsky district.
July 7, 2026 16:45 Incidents The change of environmental camps in the Perevozsky district was prematurely completed after mass cases of illness among children. Participants were urgently sent home. According to the children and their parents, the deterioration in health began the night after dinner. Teenagers complained of severe abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, and fever. Some of them were taken to the infectious disease department. An ambulance was called to the camp.
Closer to two o'clock in the morning, I woke up from severe abdominal pain. Then vomiting started. Some had headaches, others had severe stomach cramps, one of the participants of the camp said on the program "By the Way" (16+).
According to parents, many children were at the medical station.
Half of the camp was standing still. An ambulance arrived, some were taken away, said the mother of one of the teenagers.
Some link the deterioration in health to dinner. At the same time, camp participants claim they saw violations of sanitary conditions in the dining hall. According to them, food was stored without refrigeration, and there were insects and rodents in the premises. Parents also reported unsatisfactory conditions in the living quarters: children complained about insects in the rooms and shabby furniture. However, parents assure that the classrooms for lessons were in good condition. It was reported that the reason for the premature completion of the camp was an accident on the heating main and the cessation of hot water supply, making it impossible to continue the camp "due to sanitary regulations." According to official information, only a few children sought medical help for mild ailments. Camp representatives also suggested that the deterioration in health could be related to the hot weather and stated that the food was of good quality.
The camp's base was unable to comment on the situation promptly. A representative of the institution reported that the management was on vacation or away. The Rospotrebnadzor management reported that an inspection is being conducted regarding the incident. The regional Minister of Education, Mikhail Puchkov, stated that the situation is under special control, and an inspection is underway. Tests of the food block staff were negative. Products, living conditions, and compliance with sanitary requirements are also being checked.
