The facade of the house on Tsiolkovsky Street will be renovated for 70.8 million rubles.

On June 3, 2026, at 13:00, the regional operator began preparing the procurement procedure for the capital repair of the facade of building No. 7/1 on Tsiolkovsky Street in Nizhny Novgorod. Following the bidding process, a contractor is expected to be selected and a contract signed for the execution of the work, reported NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" from the Capital Repair Fund of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

The project for the capital repair has already been developed and received a positive conclusion from the expertise. The estimated cost of the work as of the first quarter of 2026 is 70.8 million rubles.

In the regional program, the capital repair of the facade was planned for 2041-2043, as the building was put into operation in 2006. Initially, under the contract signed in 2025, it was planned to inspect only the above-ground part of the external enclosing structures - specifically the facade. However, during the preliminary project inspection, specialists concluded that additional studies were necessary.

The list of works included the inspection of foundations, calculation of the permissible load-bearing capacity of the cladding layer separately from the main wall, as well as a detailed element-by-element calculation of loads. The cost of these activities significantly exceeded the initial price of the design work.

After that, the regional operator signed a new contract with the design organization LLC "Sirius Project." The company prepared the design documentation for the capital repair of the facade, which was accepted by the commission.

According to the technical conclusion, the cause of the defects was the structural features of the three-layer external walls - in particular, the absence of flexible ties. This scheme contributes to the formation of cracks in the cladding layer of the masonry.

It should be noted that cracks on the walls of the nine-story building were first recorded in 2021. Residents appealed to the chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, stating that the condition of the building continues to deteriorate and new cracks are appearing. A criminal case has been initiated.

Currently, part of the building in the Sormovsky district is fenced off with a barrier and warning tape. Access is restricted, and a notice has been placed nearby asking not to park vehicles due to the risk of facade elements collapsing. Photos can be viewed here.
