The "Book Park" in the Avtozavodsky District summed up the results of its first year of operation.

On June 3, 2026, 14:35 Society A year ago, a new public space called "Book Park" opened in the Avtozavodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod. In the first twelve months, more than five thousand residents visited the site, and the rich program clearly demonstrated that modern formats of leisure and education are becoming a real driver for the development of the urban environment. The project was implemented with the support of the grant competition "Cities with a Plus Sign" by En+.

"In just a year, 'Book Park' has won the hearts of adults and children, becoming one of the favorite places for relaxation for Avtozavod residents. Librarians, having won the grant, created a modern cultural space here, reviving the traditions of family reading and leisure, and actively engaging citizens in educational and creative projects. I am confident that 'Book Park' will continue to develop and become an even brighter point of attraction on the cultural map of the city," noted Svetlana Gulayeva, director of the culture department of the Nizhny Novgorod city administration.

The project team has done extensive work: they developed architectural and landscape design, thought out a detailed concept, conducted professional landscaping, and launched a full-fledged cultural program. Today, "Book Park" is divided into thematic zones: a cozy "Book Greenhouse," an original dome gazebo, a "Literary Gazebo," a "Literary Garden," an open reading room, as well as specially equipped areas for family recreation and creativity.

Over the year, 82 events took place at the site. Eco-markets, garage sales, readings, master classes, concerts, lectures, meetings with writers, and autograph sessions, literary and musical evenings—all of this gathered 5,300 adults and children. The space has become not just a place for relaxation, but a vibrant platform for dialogue, learning, and creativity.

"Together with the funds from the grant competition 'Cities with a Plus Sign,' we created the creative educational space 'Book Park,'" said Lyudmila Devyatkina, director of the Centralized Library System of the Avtozavodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod. "It is especially valuable that businesses are actively involved in the development of the cultural urban environment: without such partnerships, many initiatives would remain on paper. The contribution of En+ has allowed us to transform the area into a real cultural magnet that strengthens local communities and forms a new habit for residents to spend their free time in a beneficial and enjoyable way."

The "Book Park" project continues to develop. The site itself has become one of the bright examples of the work of the grant competition "Cities with a Plus Sign"—a key direction of En+'s comprehensive program "World with a Plus Sign." The competition aims to identify and support social projects that improve the quality of the urban environment, ensure the accessibility of social infrastructure, and engage the maximum number of residents in the processes of improving territories. Since 2020, the En+ grant competition has supported more than 100 projects. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
