A state of heightened readiness has been introduced at the cracked house in Sortirovka.

      On June 2, 2026, at 12:57 PM, Society In the Kanavinsky district of Nizhny Novgorod, a state of increased readiness has been established due to damage in the apartment building No. 20 on Gorokhovetskaya Street. The corresponding decree has been posted on the city hall's website. The measures are aimed at preventing threats to the life and health of residents due to identified defects in the first entrance of the building. The state of increased readiness has been in effect since May 6, 2026. The area within a radius of five meters from the first entrance has been recognized as a danger zone. This concerns the very cracked three-story building on Gorokhovetskaya, which local residents have complained about. According to them, problems began after floodwater was drained near the building. The most serious damage was found in the first entrance, but new cracks have also started to appear in the others. The Kanavinsky administration has been instructed to install informational signs in the most dangerous places and hold a meeting with residents to explain the resettlement process and the reasons for the special regime. Lists of citizens subject to resettlement will also be prepared, and constant monitoring of the condition of the first entrance will be organized. The municipality will act as the customer for the work on assessing the technical condition of the entire building. After that, a decision will be made regarding its overall technical condition. Additionally, budget funds are planned to be allocated to compensate for the costs of renting housing for the owners of apartments in the first entrance during their temporary relocation.
