May 21, 2026 15:38 Society The second batch of humanitarian aid for the residents of Dagestan affected by the flood has departed from Nizhny Novgorod. The organizers were the regional public organization "Dagestan Community" and "Volunteers of Victory" from the Nizhny Novgorod region. Local public figures and entrepreneurs also participated in preparing the cargo. At the end of April, about 20 tons of aid from the Nizhny Novgorod region were delivered to the most affected areas of Dagestan. This time, the kind initiative united a wide range of partners. The collection of aid involved the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Public Self-Government of Nizhny Novgorod," the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Mercy," the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Public Organization "Care," the unified patriotic center "Avangard," as well as the charitable foundation "Children Without Mothers." "In difficult times, we must stand shoulder to shoulder. It is heartening to see how many caring residents of Nizhny Novgorod responded to the call for help. This large shipment is a living example of unity and mutual assistance between regions. On behalf of all Dagestanis, I express my deepest gratitude to each partner and volunteer for this invaluable contribution," noted the chairman of the regional public organization "Dagestan Community," Abdula Ibrahimov. Through joint efforts, the organizers formed and sent a cargo that includes food products: drinking water, cereals, canned goods, sweets, porridge, tea, coffee, and other items. Additionally, the aid consists of toys, personal hygiene products, stationery, household items, clothing, laundry detergents, and soap. "Our mission is to help where help is needed here and now. We could not remain on the sidelines when it comes to supporting our compatriots. Together we are a great force! The cargo was formed with care so that every resident of Dagestan receiving our package feels the support of the Nizhny Novgorod land," said the head of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Public Organization "Volunteers of Victory," Maria Samodelkina.
