      On May 21, 2026, at 15:20, Incidents: A resident of the Nizhny Novgorod region was convicted for illegal possession of weapons. This was reported by the regional FSB office. According to the agency, FSB officers, together with police, conducted a search at the man's residence. During the investigative actions, they discovered and seized a Nagant revolver, which had been crudely modified from a signal weapon and was capable of firing live ammunition. The criminal case under part 1 of article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal possession of weapons") was investigated by the Main Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region. The court found the man guilty and sentenced him to 1 year and 4 months of restriction of freedom. The FSB clarified that the sentence has not yet entered into legal force. It was previously reported that a resident of the Vadsky district had a rifle, a pistol, a bayonet knife, and cartridges seized.
