Details of the traffic accident involving the son of the former head of "Luidor" in Nizhny Novgorod have been revealed.

      May 21, 2026 1:00 PM Incidents Four administrative protocols were drawn up by the State Traffic Inspectorate regarding the son of the former general director of the "Luidor" group, Sergey Kornilov, who caused a mass traffic accident in the center of Nizhny Novgorod. The accident occurred around 2:00 PM on May 20 at the Pokhvalikhin exit. According to preliminary information, the 21-year-old driver of a Mercedes-Benz lost control and veered into oncoming traffic, where he collided with a Kia. The latter vehicle spun around from the force of the impact and collided with a Nissan. The convertible of the accident's perpetrator ended up on the curb. Fortunately, no one was injured. As reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region, four protocols were drawn up against the perpetrator of the accident: for lack of insurance, crossing into oncoming traffic, road damage, and refusal to undergo a medical examination. His Mercedes was seized and sent to a special parking lot. During the check of the violating driver in the Ministry of Internal Affairs databases, it was established that he had previously been repeatedly held administratively liable, the police added. It is worth noting that a photo of the accident's perpetrator smiling on the hood of the wrecked convertible with a detached wheel against the backdrop of the accident spread on social networks. Additionally, Sergey Kornilov and his acquaintances posted a video where, before the incident, the young man behind the wheel of the car claims that he is "in the hole." Later, sitting in a restaurant with a glass in hand, he asserts that "rich kids don't die." Poverty, please don't be offended that you can't afford such a car. Everything is fine, everything is good, thank you. No one was hurt, no one is responsible. It's Russia, Kornilov said in a video message to his followers.
