      May 21, 2026 15:02 Incidents The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, has instructed on the criminal case initiated after reports of violations of the rights of residents of the village of Karabatovo in the Kstovo district of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Residents complained about the situation on social media. In April of this year, landslide processes and ground movement began in the settlement, creating a threat of destruction to residential houses, including one belonging to a participant in the Special Military Operation. An outbuilding has already collapsed on one of the plots. It is also noted that a similar problem has affected residents of the neighboring village for six years. There, several houses have been destroyed and the water supply has been damaged due to ground shifts. At the same time, as stated in the message, measures to strengthen the ground are not being taken by the authorized bodies. A criminal case has been initiated by the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Nizhny Novgorod region regarding this fact. Alexander Bastrykin has instructed the head of the regional department, Ayrat Akhmetshin, to present a report on the progress and results of the investigation. The execution of the instruction has been put under control in the central office of the agency.
