The changes were discussed on May 21 at a meeting of the Legislative Assembly's committee on transport and road management, reports IA "NTA-Volga". The project suggested establishing orange as the sole color for passenger taxis, similar to buses. An exception is provided for business-class vehicles: they will be allowed to use black. However, proposals from business representatives and the deputy corps to expand the permissible palette were received for the second reading. As reported by committee chairman Vladimir Soldatenkov, a working meeting was held the day before with the participation of parliamentarians, representatives of the regional government, major aggregators, and car fleets. Participants studied the practices of other subjects of the Russian Federation and proposed an amendment allowing the use of two colors. In addition to orange, white is planned to be included in the list as one of the most common colors among taxi vehicles. At the same time, existing carriers will not be required to urgently change the appearance of their vehicles. Cars will be able to operate in their previous color until the expiration of the license, which is issued for five years.
