Nizhny Novgorod residents were warned about fake letters from the State Labor Inspectorate.

April 24, 2026 09:18 Incidents In Russia, cases of fraud have increased, where criminals pose as employees of the Federal Labor and Employment Service and state labor inspections. This was reported by the agency.

Fraudsters send emails from addresses that resemble the official domain. To enhance credibility, they also use the agency's official symbols, fake details, and links to legal norms in their messages. They attach fake documents, including supposedly issued orders regarding identified signs of shadow employment, violations of labor legislation, or errors in reporting. Recipients are then asked to provide documents and pay for their delivery.

Experts warn: do not click on links or open attachments in suspicious emails. Such messages should be deleted immediately.

You can verify the sender by the domain: the Federal Labor Service and its territorial bodies own the address @rostrud.gov.ru. If the email raises doubts, it is advisable to contact the territorial body of the service. Information about inspections, their results, and orders can be found in the Unified Register of Control Activities.

Counterfeits can also be identified by formal signs: the decision and inspection act contain the control activity number and a QR code linking to the record in the register. Additionally, notifications from the Federal Labor Service are always displayed in the employer's personal account on the state services portal.

At the same time, the agency emphasized that there are exceptional cases when labor inspectors have the right to request information or explanations without issuing an official decision on the inspection.

Earlier, residents of Nizhny Novgorod were informed about a new fraudulent scheme related to the activities of management companies. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
