      Since the beginning of 2026, 11 medical workers have joined the "Rural Doctor" and "Rural Paramedic" programs in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Moving to rural areas, employment in state healthcare institutions, and the obligation to work for at least five years give specialists the right to one-time compensation payments: for doctors — from 1 million to 1.5 million rubles, for specialists with secondary medical education — from 500 thousand to 750 thousand rubles. The regional Ministry of Health reminded that the programs are implemented in accordance with the federal project "Medical Personnel" of the national project "Sustainable and Active Life." Following the competitive selection, specialists have been assigned to nine healthcare institutions in the region. A radiologist has started working at the Bolshaya Murashka Central District Hospital, an obstetrician-gynecologist at the Bogorodsk Central District Hospital, and an otorhinolaryngologist at the Vyksa Central District Hospital. Medical workers with secondary education have been employed at the Ardatov, Balakhna, Bor, Voskresensk, Vyksa, and Sosnovka Central District Hospitals (part of the Oka Interdistrict Medical Center), as well as at the Makaryev Interdistrict Medical Center. In the Balakhna municipal district, paramedic Lyubov Solovyova has joined the emergency medical team. She graduated from the Nizhny Novgorod Medical College in 2011, has experience working at an ambulance station, and previously worked as a nurse at the Zamyatin Social Services Home for Children. According to her, participation in the program allows for improved living conditions and ensures stability. Otorhinolaryngologist Natalia Generanova has started working in the children's outpatient department of the Vyksa Central District Hospital. In 2009, she graduated from Mordovian State University named after N.P. Ogaryov, completed an internship in her specialty, and worked in several medical institutions. She plans to use the funds received from the program to address her housing situation. The "Rural Doctor" and "Rural Paramedic" programs have been implemented in the Nizhny Novgorod region since 2012. During this time, over a thousand specialists have participated in them. The national project "Sustainable and Active Life" has been implemented in Russia since 2025 by order of President Vladimir Putin. It aims to increase life expectancy by 2030, modernize primary healthcare, attract qualified personnel, develop prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic diseases, improve emergency medical care and rehabilitation systems, as well as digitize the industry. The national project includes 11 federal projects, including "Health for Everyone," "Modernization of Primary Healthcare," "Medical Personnel," "Combating Cardiovascular Diseases," "Combating Cancer," "Combating Diabetes," "Combating Hepatitis and Minimizing Disease Spread Risks," "Improving Emergency Medical Care," "Development of Federal Medical Organizations, including the Development of a Network of National Research Centers," "National Platform 'Health'," and "Optimal Medical Rehabilitation for Health Recovery."
