The former head of the kindergarten in Gorodets was convicted of embezzling 1.2 million rubles.

      On April 21, 2026, at 19:29, Incidents In Gorodets, a verdict was delivered against the head of kindergarten No. 24, who was found guilty of fraud and embezzlement using her official position. This was reported by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

      As established by the Gorodets City Court, the woman fictitiously employed a person at the kindergarten from October 2019 to March 2025. She took the salary that was credited to this "employee" for herself and spent it on personal needs. In this way, she managed to embezzle over 960,000 rubles.

      Additionally, from January 2020 to January 2024, the head of the kindergarten inflated incentive payments to employees. Part of this money was then handed over to her by the workers. Through this scheme, she embezzled over 270,000 rubles more.

      During the investigation, the prosecutor filed a civil lawsuit for over 1.2 million rubles. To ensure its execution, a lien was placed on the defendant's car worth about 1 million rubles.

      The court sentenced the woman to 3 years and 6 months of conditional imprisonment with a probation period of 3 years. The prosecutor's claim was fully satisfied.

      Earlier, it was reported that an accountant from a Nizhny Novgorod recreation center was accused of embezzling nearly 7 million rubles.
