A Tyumen resident who ordered iPhones for 5 rubles was able to receive part of the purchased items through the court.
April 8, 2026 11:20 Society A resident of Tyumen, Ruslan, who ordered several dozen gadgets at incredibly low prices, has finally received part of the goods, while for the rest he received compensation, reports "MegaTyumen."
The story began in 2022 when Ruslan noticed abnormally low prices for electronics on the marketplace - 5-10 rubles per item - and placed a large order: iPhones, routers, speakers, and other gadgets. 30 items cost him 180 rubles. After payment, the seller canceled the order and refunded the money. However, the man did not give up and decided to fight for his rights in court: in his opinion, the deal was legally concluded.
The Tyumen resident told the publication that he initially tried to resolve the issue on his own by sending a complaint to the seller and contacting the marketplace's support service. But all his attempts were unsuccessful. In 2024, he filed a lawsuit.
At the first stage of the case review, the court refused to satisfy the claims, considering that the contract had not been concluded. Ruslan did not give up and filed an appeal.
The appellate court agreed that the contract had been concluded but denied the claim for another reason: the court believed that the large number of goods was not intended for personal use but rather for resale.
However, the cassation court overturned the appellate court's decision and sent the case for a new review. During the new review, it was proven that Ruslan was indeed purchasing the electronics for personal use.
Despite this, the defendant was slow to comply with the court's decision. The parties began negotiations on how to resolve the dispute. Ultimately, they reached a compromise: Ruslan received part of the goods, and for the remaining items, they agreed on monetary compensation.
The settlement agreement was approved by the court, and the defendant fulfilled the agreements. Ruslan received compensation a few days ago.
This case shows that even if a seller cancels an order without explanation, the buyer can still defend their rights in court. The main thing is to gather evidence and justify their claims.
