Flood 2026 in the Nizhny Novgorod region: fresh data on flooding

      April 8, 2026 09:10 Society New cases of flooding and washouts have been recorded in the Nizhny Novgorod region over the past day. This was reported by the regional emergency management agency. According to the agency, in the Semyonovsky district, a bridge on the road Semyonov – Ilyino-Zaborskoye – Kovernino near the village of Pustyn has been flooded. If necessary, a vehicle has been organized for round-the-clock duty to transport people. In the Sergach district, a low-water bridge over the P'yana River on the Sergach – Yanovo highway, 500 meters from the village of Yanovo, has been flooded. Road communication with the settlement has been disrupted. Traffic is being conducted via an alternative route Sergach – Kochko – Pozharki – Shubino – Yanovo. In the Volodarsky district, a section of road has been flooded one kilometer from the village of Okhlopkovo. A similar situation has been recorded in the Pilninsky district in the village of Staromochaleyi on River Street, as well as in the Sechenovsky district at the 162nd kilometer of the regional highway R162 "Rabotki – Poretskoye." In the Pochinkovsky district, in the village of Ilyinskoye on Sloboda-Borisovka Street, residential houses have been flooded. In the Bor district, in the gardening partnership "Olha" near the village of Rekshino, water has entered the household plots. Additionally, in the Sokolski district, road washout has been recorded on the Dorofeevo – Gavrilovka road near the village of Olovyagino. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, there are no casualties or injuries. Evacuation of residents to temporary accommodation centers is not required. A round-the-clock collection and monitoring of information has been organized in the region, and the work of operational groups of municipalities monitoring the flood situation is being controlled daily. It was previously reported that the flood has affected 19 municipalities in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
