Our goal is to convey historical truth to the youth, provide correct guidelines, instill in the kids a love for their homeland, and evoke in them a sense of pride for their country," noted the speaker of the Duma. The first to embark on the route were eighth-grade students from schools No. 121 of the Kanavinsky district, the Selection Station, No. 76 of the Sormovsky district, No. 91 of the Lenin district, No. 3, and the Zhdanovskaya secondary school of the Kstovo district. Their teachers conduct excursions to the memorial sites associated with significant events and outstanding historical figures for the city and the country. Evgeny Chintsov walked the route together with students from the Zhdanovskaya secondary school of the Kstovo district, where he spoke with the kids about the reasons for the start of the special military operation at the exhibition dedicated to it and laid flowers together with them at the monument "To the Heroes of the Home Front" in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin. Traditionally, the route begins at the painting by Konstantin Makovsky "The Call of Minin" in the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum. Then each group proceeds to the monument to V.P. Chkalov, visits the memorial "To the Units Formed in the City of Gorky and Gorky Region During the Great Patriotic War" of 1941-1945, the exhibition of the special military operation in the House of Councils, the memorial "Gorky Residents - to the Front," the tomb of Minin in the Mikhailo-Arkhangelsky Cathedral, the obelisk to Minin and Pozharsky, and the exhibition "The Feat of National Unity." The excursion tour concludes at the monument to Minin and Pozharsky in the Square of National Unity. "In the first season of 2025, 4,750 schoolchildren and their teachers from 131 educational institutions participated in the project. Several times I personally led excursions, and later colleagues from the City Duma joined. The project was duly appreciated by both Nizhny Novgorod residents and representatives from other regions of Russia, expressing a desire to adopt our idea. That is why we continue it this year, declared by the president as the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. For our country, unity has always been and remains a great strength, and Nizhny Novgorod is rightly considered one of the symbols of national unity, the birthplace of the state holiday - the Day of National Unity," said Evgeny Chintsov. After the excursion, Anna Kostyanova, a teacher of Russian language and literature at school No. 3 in the Kstovo district, shared her experience of participating in the project. "Our school is participating in this project for the first time, and it is an honor for us to walk the historical route 'Unity - the Path to Victory.' The project is very interesting and covers several important points. Our students prepared for the excursion. We organized a competitive selection of speakers who presented today in front of their classmates. As a teacher, I am pleased that the kids spent their time usefully and truly engaged with this project," noted the educator.

      Let us remind you that the project "Unity - the Path to Victory!" reached the finals of the III All-Russian Municipal Award "Service" in the nomination "From the Advanced Special Military Operation in the Municipality." From March 2 to April 6, an open public voting is taking place on the "Gosuslugi" portal. Anyone can support the initiative. The votes of Nizhny Novgorod residents will help the project enter the top 40 best municipal practices in the country.
