      Russian President Vladimir Putin launched the movement of unmanned transport along the federal highway M-12 in the Vladimir region. This was reported by the press service of the state company "Avtodor."

      As Vladimir Putin noted, the corridor for unmanned transportation will connect St. Petersburg and Kazan, and in the future, the geography of "smart" transport will be expanded to other federal highways.

      "I thank the specialists who bring these significant projects to life for their responsibility and professionalism, for their substantial contribution to the common cause. All these facilities and initiatives are part of our large, systematic work to create a modern, unified transport and logistics framework for the country, to enhance the safety and comfort of citizens' movement, and to strengthen the connectivity of regions," said Vladimir Putin. The movement of unmanned transport on federal highways began in June 2023 – at that time, highly automated vehicles started operating on the M-11 highway. Later, unmanned movement appeared on the Central Ring Road. By the beginning of 2026, more than 95 cargo drones will be operating on the country's roads. By 2030, their number is expected to reach 4,000.
