The Deputy Governor Checherin spoke with students of "Professionalism" from Dzerzhinsk.
March 7, 2026 10:49 Society The Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Andrey Checherin, and the Minister of Education of the region, Mikhail Puchkov, assessed the implementation of the "Professionalism" program of the national project "Youth and Children" in Dzerzhinsk. The leaders visited two educational institutions that joined the federal project in 2024: Dzerzhinsk Pedagogical College and the Dzerzhinsk Chemical Technical School named after the Red Army. They inspected classrooms and laboratories, and interacted with students and their teachers. At Dzerzhinsk Pedagogical College, the tour for the guests was conducted by the director, Mikhail Tarasov. The training of "Professionalism" students here is conducted in four areas: teaching in primary classes, preschool education, pedagogy of additional education, and physical culture. Andrey Checherin noted that the only educational cluster of the federal project in the region was created based on this college. The other 15 clusters are educational-production ones.
Among the future educators and physical culture specialists are girls and boys from various municipalities of the Nizhny Novgorod region, as well as from neighboring regions. Many of the students find employment in educational organizations in Dzerzhinsk after graduation. They are awaited not only in kindergartens, schools, clubs, and sections but also in enterprises where specialists in industrial gymnastics are currently in demand. "It is very important to prepare highly qualified personnel for our educational institutions, as the quality of children's education determines our common future. Today, almost 25,000 teachers work in the education sector of the region, of which over 20,000 are women. On the eve of International Women's Day, I want to congratulate all women educators and mentors! I wish them health, happiness, and may their smiles never fade!" said the Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
Mikhail Puchkov reported that 625 students are mastering "Professionalism" programs at Dzerzhinsk Pedagogical College, and 450 students at the Dzerzhinsk Chemical Technical School named after the Red Army. "The system of secondary vocational education in Dzerzhinsk is very clearly structured and harmoniously developing. It is important to constantly lay new steps in development. At the pedagogical college, for example, we plan to repair the roof and facade of the main building using regional budget funds. In general, participants in "Professionalism" can apply for federal competitions and receive additional federal funding for the renovation of educational facilities. We will prepare such applications for both educational institutions we visited," he said.
One of the priorities for the development of the Dzerzhinsk Chemical Technical School is the introduction of new teaching methods developed in collaboration with employers. Today, the institution's social partners are the largest high-tech and science-intensive enterprises in the region. They actively provide places for students to undergo internships and for their employment. Andrey Checherin and Mikhail Puchkov visited the college building where students are engaged in practical work. According to the director of the educational institution, Yegor Nikitin, thanks to "Professionalism," nine zones for different types of work have been created here – production and analytical control of chemical compounds, electrical installation, repair and maintenance of electrical equipment, installation, technical maintenance, operation and repair of industrial equipment, locksmith work, welding work, and more. The building can accommodate 250 students at the same time.
"In this technical school, almost all students in the senior classes already work at local enterprises. They are trained on the equipment and using the methods that are specifically available at the workplace. The "Professionalism" program is an example of a seamless transition from education to production. It allows us not to waste valuable time retraining young specialists. We thank the Ministry of Education of Russia for this program and for the national project "Youth and Children." Our main task is to ensure that all Nizhny Novgorod technical schools and colleges eventually join "Professionalism," concluded Andrey Checherin.
Let us remind you that the national project "Youth and Children" is being implemented on the instructions of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. It includes nine federal projects and programs: "Russia – a Country of Opportunities," "We Are Together," "Russia in the World," "All the Best for Children," "Leading Schools," "Teachers and Mentors," "Creating a Network of Modern Campuses," "Universities for the Generation of Leaders," and "Professionalism."
