About 66 kg of questionable fish products were seized in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      March 7, 2026 10:59 Society In the Nizhny Novgorod region, eight batches of low-quality fish products weighing a total of 65.5 kg were removed from circulation in 2025. This was reported by the regional office of Rospotrebnadzor. Over the year, the agency's specialists inspected fish and seafood in several areas. They tested 177 samples for sanitary-chemical indicators, 87 for physical-chemical, 346 for microbiological, and 171 for parasitological. The highest number of violations was recorded for physical-chemical indicators (19.5%). For microbiological indicators, the share of non-compliance was 2.4%, and for parasitological - 1.2%. At the same time, samples for sanitary-chemical indicators and radioactive substance content met established requirements. No GMOs were found in the tested products. Additionally, throughout the year, specialists identified violations of storage conditions and expiration dates of fish products, the absence of labeling tags, as well as cases of selling goods that did not meet the requirements of technical regulations.
