The Nizhny Novgorod labor inspection became interested in the debts of the cleaners at the railway platforms.

      March 7, 2026 09:30 Society The State Labor Inspection in the Nizhny Novgorod region is checking media reports about the non-payment of wages to workers who are clearing snow from railway platforms in the region. This was reported by the agency's press service.

      Thus, an employee responsible for cleaning the platforms of the Semyonovskaya branch of the Gorky Railway told journalists from the program "By the Way" (18+) that his salary for January and February 2026 has not been fully paid. For this reason, the cleaning work has been suspended. The interviewee also reported the absence of any official employment.

      The inspection noted that, at the moment, no complaints or appeals regarding this matter have been received. Workers who have not received payment for clearing the platforms are advised to send a written statement to the agency.

      The State Labor Inspection emphasized that uncleaned railway platforms pose a potential threat to the safety of citizens.

      Cases of injuries on the railway are being checked by officials for the presence of labor relations and the connection of incidents with production.

      "The State Labor Inspection is investigating the circumstances and reasons for the situation regarding the non-payment of wages to workers clearing snow from railway platforms of the managing organization. If there are grounds, measures of inspector response will be taken," said Ilya Moshes, the chief state labor inspector in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      It should be noted that due to the uncleaned platform at the Kiselikha station, a tragic incident occurred - a man fell under the wheels of a passing freight train and died. A criminal case has been initiated.
