In the Nizhny Novgorod Region, under the Cinema Fund program, two cinemas received new equipment and two more upgraded their equipment. The program is being implemented as part of the national "Family" project, the Ministry of Culture of the Nizhny Novgorod Region reports.
"This year the Fund is supporting the creation of halls in small settlements with populations of up to 50,000 people. In our region, the Pilninsky Cultural and Leisure Center and the sports and recreation complex (FOK) in Dalny Konstantinov passed the competitive selection. I would like to remind you that in previous years, thanks to the support of the Cinema Fund, almost forty cinema halls opened across the region. Today the program is not only continuing, but also expanding in functionality, which means that cinema remains one of the most important art forms in our country," said Natalya Sukhanova, Minister of Culture of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
Within the program, projectors, lenses, screens, computer-based projection control terminals, active speakers, ticketing equipment and other components were purchased to create two new film screening venues. As a result, a 270-seat hall at the Pilninsky Cultural and Leisure Center and a 49-seat hall in the Energia FOK in Dalny Konstantinov were adapted for film screenings. More than 5.8 million rubles from the federal budget were allocated for these purposes. Each of these venues is connected to a unified digital platform with a library of contemporary titles from the Russian film industry.
In addition, equipment was replaced in cinema halls previously created with the support of the Cinema Fund at the Sarov City Museum and the Oka FOK in Dzerzhinsk. For the Sarov venue, four projection lamps, a set of filters, a media server and a digital audio cinema processor were purchased. For the Dzerzhinsk cinema hall, a laser light source for integration with the cinema projector, a set of filters and a multimedia processor for the projector were acquired. The equipment modification program for previously supported Cinema Fund halls, aimed at keeping them in working condition, applies to halls created in localities with populations of up to 500,000 people. For these purposes, the institutions received a total of about 4.1 million rubles.
Recall that from 2025, on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, new national projects began in the country. Cultural activities were included in the federal project "Family Values and Cultural Infrastructure" of the national "Family" project. These include activities to re-equip cinema halls, municipal libraries, regional and municipal theaters and museums, measures under the "Pushkin Card" initiative and a number of new measures. Overall, the national "Family" project is aimed at supporting and developing family values, creating comfortable conditions for the formation of healthy and happy families. The main goal of the new national project is to ensure that every family in Russia has the opportunity to realize its potential, ensuring the harmonious development of all its members.
