      The Leninsky District Court of Nizhny Novgorod granted the transport prosecutor's claim, obliging JSC Russian Railways (RZD) to carry out a major overhaul of the Ilyinogorskaya passenger platform in the Volodarsky District.

      According to the Privolzhskaya Transport Prosecutor's Office, violations of requirements for railway safety and infrastructure accessibility for people with disabilities were found on the platform.

      During the inspection it was established that the facility lacked tactile indicators necessary for the orientation of visually impaired passengers. In addition, damage to the asphalt surface and load-bearing structures of the platform was recorded.

      The court ruled that JSC Russian Railways must rectify the identified deficiencies and ensure that the platform complies with regulations. The carrying out of repair work and the installation of tactile elements will be under the supervision of the supervisory authority.

      Earlier it was reported that the Privolzhskaya Transport Prosecutor's Office helped the mother of a Nizhny Novgorod resident who died at Sportivnaya station to receive compensation from Russian Railways.
