      Torpedo hockey players finished their first home series of 2026 with a bright victory. In a tense meeting on the ice of Nagorny, the Torpedo side defeated Astana's Barys 3-2, ending their four-game losing streak.

      The visitors managed to open the scoring in the middle of the first period, but less than a minute later Dmitry Shevchenko restored parity. In the second period Barys went ahead again, but Vladimir Tkachev equalized once more.

      Soon emotions on the ice flared — scuffles broke out between players. Against this tense backdrop Amir Garaev scored his first goal for Torpedo, which ultimately proved to be the winner.

      Despite intensified play in the final period, the score on the board remained unchanged — 3-2 in favor of the Nizhny Novgorod side.

      After this much-needed victory Torpedo has 52 points and rises to fourth place in the KHL standings.

      Alexey Isakov's team will play their next match away — on January 10 in Cherepovets against Severstal.
