      The governor of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Gleb Nikitin, congratulated the region's residents on the feast of the Nativity of Christ.

      In his address he emphasized the spiritual significance of this day for all Orthodox Christians, noting that Christmas is a time of inner renewal, rethinking one's actions, and striving for goodness.

      "The Bethlehem star that showed the way to the Magi is an eternal symbol. It reminds us that even in the deepest darkness there is always a guiding ray if the heart is open to faith. This holiday awakens hope in us again and reminds us: everyone has their own inner light — the voice of conscience, a striving for truth and love. Christmas calls on us to follow this light, trust it, and not let it be extinguished under the weight of everyday concerns," the head of the region said.

      Nikitin urged Nizhny Novgorod residents not to limit themselves to a festive mood but to embody Christian values in everyday life — to show mercy, help those in need of support, and be more tolerant and attentive to one another.

      A special place in the governor's Christmas address was the mention of the solemn midnight service, which he called "a living encounter with a miracle," filling souls with light and peace.

      The head of the region also noted the contribution of the Nizhny Novgorod Metropolis to preserving the region's historical and spiritual heritage. According to him, the restoration of churches and monasteries continues in the region, and important social and educational initiatives are being implemented.

      "On the feast of the Nativity of Christ I wish that love and mutual understanding reign in every home, that those dear to you are near, and that only kind and responsive people cross your life path. Wishing you robust health, spiritual light, and undying hope! Merry Christmas!" Gleb Nikitin wished the people of Nizhny Novgorod.
