"The Christmas Fiesta" will take place in Nizhny Novgorod on January 6.

      05 January 2026 10:01 Events The winter ballooning festival "Christmas Fiesta" (0+), which was scheduled to be held in Nizhny Novgorod from January 3 to 8, will take place only on January 6.

      Earlier, all the festival's scheduled events were canceled. The program was reduced due to unfavorable weather.

      According to the organizers, the only day with suitable flying conditions was Christmas Eve. It is on January 6 at 15:00 that tethered balloon ascents will begin at the site between Meshcherskoye Lake and the Metro hypermarket.

      Four balloons will take part in the event. Three of them will lift all comers, and the fourth, in the shape of a heart with Ded Moroz and a team of reindeer, will serve as a photo zone for guests.

      The start of the ascents may be delayed by 30–60 minutes depending on the actual weather on site. Untethered flights of balloons over the city remain uncertain for now.
