On 27 November, an outdoor exhibition titled "Lean Technologies: Lessons from the Past for Future Victories" (0+) opened in Nizhny Novgorod. The event is timed to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and was attended by city residents wishing to learn more about the heroic past of their region.

The exhibition introduces the history of the use of lean technologies during the war, when, despite resource shortages, the workforces of the Gorky factories were able to organize mass production of high-quality weaponry, in part thanks to the introduction of innovative approaches and the optimization of production processes.

The opening ceremony was attended by Acting Minister of Personnel Policy of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Elena Amosova; Project Director of JSC "PSR" of the state corporation Rosatom Alexey Meshcheryakov; Vice-Rector of the Corporate University of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region (KUPNO), Chairman of the Council of the regional branch of the Russian Military-Historical Society (RVIO) Ivan Kalmykov; representatives of corporate museums of Nizhny enterprises; participants of the All-Russian public movement "Volunteers of Victory"; and KUPNO staff.

The honored guests emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory and passing experience on to future generations.

"The experience accumulated by our heroic ancestors must not remain merely a matter of history. It must work, be applied, and inspire contemporaries to new labor achievements not only in industry. Yes, technologies have changed noticeably since the Great Patriotic War. But the approach to life has not changed, nor the creative philosophy of continuous improvement," said Acting Minister of Personnel Policy of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Elena Amosova.

The exhibition reveals the labor feat of fellow countrymen who, despite all the difficulties, managed to produce a colossal number of weapon models recognized as the best in the world. Visitors will be able to see unique photographs and documents that tell how the people of Nizhny coped with the challenges of wartime.

"It is symbolic that the exhibition opened in the year of the 80th anniversary of the domestic nuclear industry, which is currently a driver of the development of lean technologies in our country," said Project Director of JSC "PSR" of the state corporation Rosatom Alexey Meshcheryakov.

The exhibition was organized by the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, KUPNO, State Corporation Rosatom, the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization "Altar of the Fatherland," and the regional branch of the Russian Military-Historical Society in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

"The lean technologies that were implemented during wartime have become part of our industrial heritage. For the Russian Military-Historical Society it is important to remember and convey that victory was forged not only at the front, but also on the home front, where every screw, every part mattered," emphasized Ivan Kalmykov, Chairman of the Council of the regional branch of the RVIO in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

The exhibition is open to visitors until 27 December; anyone interested can immerse themselves in the history of lean technologies at 43 Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street, Nizhny Novgorod.
