Two localities have ceased to exist in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The decision was made by deputies of the Legislative Assembly at a session on November 27, reports a correspondent of NIA "Nizhny Novgorod."
In the Urensky District the rural settlement of Sosnovka was abolished. The reason was that it has been uninhabited for a long time and there is no real estate owned by individuals or legal entities.
The village of Panfilovo in the Arzamas district will also disappear from the map. But in this case the reason is more positive — it was incorporated into the village of Shatovka. This was done to enable residents to participate in the program to complete gasification.
As Vladimir Pakov, chairman of the Committee on State Power Issues, explained, these localities have effectively merged, and their engineering, transport and social infrastructure has become unified.
Moreover, the merger was supported by residents of both villages. In this case regional legislation permits the merging of localities.
In October the abandoned settlement Polevoy, which is part of the urban-type settlement named after Stepan Razin in Lukoyanovsky District, was liquidated; in September the same decision was made regarding the Lesogorsk station settlement in Shatkovsky District and the settlement Pishtan in Sharangsky District.
It was also reported that three villages are planned to be merged into one in Gorodetsky District.
