More than 200 young researchers, scientists and developers were selected through a competitive process to represent the Nizhny Novgorod Region at the 5th Congress of Young Scientists, held on the Sirius federal territory.
The Congress of Young Scientists is a key event of the Decade of Science and Technology. Its goal is to strengthen the role of science and technology in addressing the most important tasks of societal and national development. The event runs from 26 to 28 November and has brought together more than 8,000 young scientists and specialists from nearly 90 countries. More than 200 events are planned, ranging from plenary sessions to strategic discussions.
Our region is represented at the congress by a delegation led by Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Andrey Sanosyan. The delegation includes Deputy Chair of the Regional Government Ekaterina Solntseva, as well as leaders and researchers from the region’s leading universities and scientific organizations.
“The Congress of Young Scientists is the largest platform for dialogue between science, the state and business, which determines the main vectors of the country’s scientific and technological development. The Nizhny Novgorod Region is ready to demonstrate here not just individual achievements, but an integrated model of a scientific and educational ecosystem where the integration of universities, research institutes and industry creates a synergistic effect for achieving national technological priorities,” said Andrey Sanosyan.
Representatives of the Nizhny Novgorod Scientific and Educational Center (NOC), the IT University, NNSU, NGTU, PIMU and NNGASU are participating in the congress on behalf of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Over three days they will speak at plenary and thematic sessions, take part in discussions, present regional achievements and build partnerships in the fields of science and high technology.
“The Congress of Young Scientists is a living portrait of the future of Russian science. And that future looks brilliant! The most breakthrough ideas are born at the intersection of disciplines, and the power of science grows through friendly ties and open communication. A particular source of pride is our strong Nizhny Novgorod delegation, which sets the tone in this movement forward!” said Ekaterina Solntseva.
Recall that the period from 2022 to 2031 was declared the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia by decree of President Vladimir Putin. The main objectives of the Decade are to attract talented youth to research and development, to involve researchers and developers in solving the most important tasks of societal and national development, and to increase Russians’ awareness of the achievements and prospects of domestic science.
