      The Prosecutor’s Office of the Nizhny Novgorod Region has gone to court seeking to recover 2.5 million rubles from a former police officer. This was reported by the press service of the supervisory agency.

      It has been established that two years ago the former head of the traffic police (OGIBDD) of the Lyskovo division of the Russian Interior Ministry bought a BMW X6 XDRIVE costing more than 2.5 million rubles. To avoid declaring it, he nominally registered it in the name of a close relative. According to the prosecutor’s office, the officer’s income did not allow him to purchase such a car.

      Since the legality of the funds could not be confirmed, the prosecutor’s office demanded the recovery of more than 2.5 million rubles from the officer. A criminal case is also being investigated against the man. He is suspected of exceeding his official powers.
