      Gleb Nikitin, governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, during a meeting with members of the business community on November 19 voiced the idea of a possible renaming of the regional Ministry of Tourism and Trades.

      During a discussion of a directive with the region’s minister of tourism and trades, Sergey Yakovlev, the head of the region suggested an alternative name — the Ministry of Hospitality.

      "By the way, let’s not have a Ministry of Tourism, but a Ministry of Hospitality," the governor joked.

      According to Nikitin, the regional authorities pay attention not only to the development of the tourism sector but also to creating infrastructure that improves the quality of life for residents of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. He noted that the region is analyzing which facilities have already been implemented in other federal subjects and which are still absent in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Earlier the governor explained what makes Nizhny Novgorod more unique than Moscow and other Russian cities.
