Construction of the Molev School in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region, is entering its final stage. Representatives of the parent committee, together with the head of the city, Mikhail Klinkov, inspected the work at the site.
According to the press service of the City Duma, underfloor heating is already being installed in the pool building and equipment is being set up. Interior finishing work is underway in the school itself.
Landscaping of the adjacent grounds is almost complete: spirea shrubs and lilacs have been planted, and pines and linden trees have appeared along Klyukvina Street. The school will be connected to the heating system in the near future, which will allow interior finishing to be accelerated.
All shortcomings and defects caused by the previous contractor have been identified and are being rectified. According to city authorities, the school should receive permission to commission by the end of 2025. During the winter period, the operation of the engineering systems, including heating, is planned to be tested and any possible deficiencies addressed.
Recall that construction of the school began in February 2023. It was originally planned to be completed in 2024, but the deadlines were postponed. The building, which will bear the name of A. O. Molev, is designed to house 44 classrooms, three sports halls, an assembly hall and modern infrastructure. A swimming pool with two basins is also being constructed nearby.
Residents of Dzerzhinsk appealed to the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, with complaints about the absence of a school in the district. In July, the contract with the previous contractor was terminated due to missed deadlines. The Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation took on completion of the construction.
Earlier it was reported that 221.8 million rubles would be allocated to finish building the 1,000‑pupil school in central Bor.
