Mikhail Kostyukov, a footballer for Nizhny Novgorod's Volna, has retired.
November 12, 2025, 7:00 PM. Sports: Nizhny Novgorod native Mikhail Kostyukov officially announced the end of his professional career. This was reported by the press service of the football club Volna.
The 34-year-old Kostyukov played both as a midfielder and as a forward. Kostyukov joined Volna in the autumn of 2024. He played 16 matches for the Nizhny Novgorod club and provided two assists.
During his career he played in the Russian Premier League for Amkar, Rubin, Yenisei and other teams. He played 114 matches in the top division — exactly the same number as in the First League.
During that time the footballer scored 35 goals and provided 22 assists. He also took part in UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying matches.
“We thank Mikhail for his incredible dedication and wish him success in a new footballing role!” the club representatives wrote.
