A man from the city of Vyksa fully repaid his alimony debt to avoid being subjected to administrative punishment, the Main Directorate of the Federal Bailiff Service for the Nizhny Novgorod Region reported.

The 41-year-old man was officially unemployed and paid alimony for his daughter irregularly. As a result, a debt of more than 360,000 rubles accumulated.

The bailiff froze the man's accounts and warned that for non-payment of alimony he could be held administratively liable under Article 5.35.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. To avoid punishment, the debtor quickly found the money and paid off the debt in full.

The Main Directorate added that despite repaying the debt, the citizen is still obliged to regularly transfer alimony for the support of the minor child.

Earlier it was reported that from 25 May 2025 an electronic register of alimony debtors began operating in Russia. It helps track non-payers and motivates them to fulfill their obligations so as not to face problems in life and at work.
