Evgeny Lyulin: Talented young people should be included in politics regardless of party affiliation.

      “Youth policy in the country should have a vertical, at the top of which should be the Youth Parliament attached to the State Duma, and its composition should include members of youth parliaments attached to the Legislative Assemblies of the subjects of the Russian Federation. It used to be that way, but then the system was destroyed by filling the ‘youth body’ at the State Duma with current deputies up to 35 years old. Why was this necessary for already established regional politicians? The question remains open. We discussed this at a meeting with Maria Voropaeva, First Deputy Head of the Central Apparatus of the LDPR, the second-ranking figure of that parliamentary party. Not long ago Maria Aleksandrovna herself was in the rank of a young politician, heading the Youth Parliament at the State Duma, which was then a real driver of youth policy in the country. I am very glad that today her generation has already entered political life and is ready to change a lot,” wrote Yevgeny Lyulin, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, on his social networks.

      “Maria Voropaeva came to Nizhny Novgorod to discuss political prospects for 2026 with the leadership of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Next year deputies to the State Duma and the Legislative Assembly will need to be re-elected. And we will also mark the 80th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Volfovich Zhirinovsky. I was personally acquainted with this outstanding politician, who left a huge legacy, including in the field of youth policy,” the speaker of the regional parliament emphasized.

      “Today it is very important to include talented young people in politics regardless of which party they belong to. They must be given real tools — such as the right of legislative initiative. It is pleasing that our views on this coincide completely. I hope that in the new convocation of the State Duma work with youth will receive a new impetus,” Yevgeny Lyulin concluded.
