Ekaterina Lebedeva: "The concept of the unity of the Russian people is becoming even more relevant today"

      Director of the NRU Presidential Academy Ekaterina Lebedeva congratulated the residents of Nizhny Novgorod on National Unity Day.

      She emphasized that in 2025 the country is celebrating this holiday for the twentieth time.

      "Over this time we have realized the significance and deep meaning of this event for our people and have begun to reflect on its contemporary significance," Lebedeva said.

      According to the university director, a scholarly conference held at the NRU Presidential Academy helped to rethink the values and historical images of the holiday.

      "Representatives of the clergy, historians, politicians, public and cultural figures from across Russia and from countries that share our cultural values gathered to talk about the historical mission of our Fatherland and about the Heroes of Russia in different historical eras," Lebedeva said.

      She also stressed that Russia has always been able to mobilize its forces, and the popular spirit that inspired the formation of the people's militia in the early 17th century continues to live in people's hearts.

      "As in the times of our great ancestors, in the modern world there is room for heroism and selfless service to the Motherland, and the notion of the unity of the Russian people today becomes even more relevant. On this momentous day I wish each of you health, happiness, joy and the support of a brotherly shoulder at your side! In unity lies our strength! Happy holiday!" concluded the director of the NRU Presidential Academy.
