Public transport drivers in Nizhny Novgorod will be required to adhere to a dress code.
01 November 2025 08:00 Society — As part of the ongoing reform of the transport system in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, authorities are tightening requirements for carriers, paying particular attention to passenger service culture.
According to Deputy Minister of Transport and Highways of the region Denis Ryabinin, one of the key issues has become the need to introduce standards for drivers' appearance. Such requirements will be introduced for the first time.
Under the new contract terms, starting a shift in shorts, flip‑flops and other inappropriate clothing will be unacceptable. At the same time, what exact dress code drivers will be required to follow is not specified.
It should be recalled that Nizhny Novgorod is continuing its transition of public transport to higher‑class rolling stock.
Earlier it was reported that the transition to cashless payment on Nizhny Novgorod transport will continue until December 31.
