Fish catch in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast increased by 51 tonnes

In the Nizhny Novgorod region, over the first three quarters of 2025 the volume of fish catches increased by 51 tonnes compared with the same period last year, the regional Ministry of Forestry and Agriculture reported.
According to the agency, the total catch for the nine months amounted to 328.16 tonnes. A year earlier this figure reached 277 tonnes.
The largest increase in catches was recorded at the Cheboksary Reservoir, where 185.42 tonnes of fish were caught compared to 127.53 tonnes in 2024.
An increase was also noted at the Gorky Reservoir — from 63.15 to 73.51 tonnes.
At the same time, the Oka River shows a decline: in 2025, 69.23 tonnes of fish were caught there, whereas a year earlier the volume was 86.41 tonnes.
Earlier it was reported that autumn fish stocking of water bodies had begun in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
